WARM LYMPHATIC BODY WRAP
This treatment especially benefits the Lymphatic circulation, which is an active member of the immune system. I use a blend of jojoba & grape seed oils, with essential plant oils known for their cleansing properties. This blend is applied to the entire body (except the face & breasts). The recipient is then wrapped in layers to create & retain heat, in order to promote absorption of the beneficial oils & induce perspiration. During the wrap, I provide a relaxing 15-20 minute lymphatic facial to encourage fluid flow in the face & sinuses. The treatment benefits include:
- Gentle stimulation of blood circulation
- Gentle stimulation of lymph flow, which decreases water retention & enhances immune function
- Relief from sinus/chest congestion
- Improvement of skin texture & elasticity
MASSAGE ADD ON: An after-wrap 20 min massage is available for an additional $20.00.
PRE-PAY FOR 3 OR MORE SESSIONS FOR A 10% DISCOUNT.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy gently and rhythmically moves lymph fluid through the lymphatic capillaries in the body, especially in swollen areas where lymph fluid has collected due to compromised drainage or injury. LDT relieves pressure and enhances the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LDT can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling, discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
Therapies Unite: Stretch&Release
I love combining Myofascial Stretching, Swedish & Lymphatic work into one session, as it seems to happen naturally. I feel these modalities are very synergistic together. Each of these bodywork methods is described under its own heading below. The minimum session length is 75 minutes, in order to fully incorporate the techniques & provide adequate attention to the body.
Myofascial Stretching is a technique used to treat tension, injuries and discomfort. It reduces pain and increases range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. Fascia also envelops the deep organs, bones, blood vessels & nerves, so it's vital connective tissue! While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this all pervading, important membrane.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing, therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as effleurage, petrissage, stripping and crosswise friction to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches & pains, decreased stress levels, enhanced mental clarity, improved posture, greater flexibility and deeper sleep.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has been called massage for the nervous system. It is a light touch therapy that uses a variety of hand holds to contact the body & engage with the subtle intelligence that is present within every person. This intelligence expresses as slow rhythmic motion, expanding & contracting, in every cell of the body, similar to slow tidal movement of ocean water. The human anatomy continuously seeks balance & healing within all tissue structures, and the therapist's informed touch is a support for this process. Interacting with the natural body rhythms tends to deepen relaxation and release restrictions that are impeding fluid energy flow. This therapy is relaxing, healing & supportive to all body systems, & the client stays fully clothed during the session.
Hands & Feet Massage
If you want to receive massage for only your hands & feet, I will provide soothing stretch & joint mobility techniques to help release tension/restrictions in the tissues of your hands & feet. You may choose a pure plant aroma that I'll combine with jojoba oil for an enjoyable sensory experience, while your hands & feet receive caring attention.
Oncology Massage is a special type of massage developed specifically for cancer patients. Cancer patients have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment so you can fully relax.
Geriatric massage is designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain and increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help maintain and improve overall health, support posture, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, physical touch benefits from massage can help alleviate symptoms of loneliness & uplift the spirit!
Chair massage provides stress/tension/pain relief at my studio, your home or workplace. Massage is given in a specialized ergonomic chair, which may be preferable for those who can't lie on a table for long periods or who want only back, neck, shoulder & arm massage. At the workplace, it is a welcome 15-20 minute respite for employees, when they can each take time for tension relief massage in a quiet area. This work is done over the clothing, although in a private home setting, there exists the choice of less or no upper body clothing. Chair massage sessions can be shorter than traditional table sessions, making them convenient to fit into busy schedules.
WORKPLACE RATE: $160 for 2 hrs (2 hr minimum)
Additional Fee for Home Service
Massage Therapy service provided at the client's home is charged an additional $10.00.
